Molecular Conceptor is the first multimedia courseware for teaching 3D drug design principles. After covering basic information about drug discovery and molecular modeling methods, this CD ROM explains how molecular geometry and computed properties are used to design lead compounds. It reviews strategies to mimic small molecules, design inhibitors and peptidomimetics. Concepts are illustrated with manipulatable views of molecules, pharmacophores, and protein ligand complexes. It aims the education of students and professors, the training of medicinal chemists, and may serve as a refresher course for modelers.
